About Naomi
Naomi Wilson is a longtime public servant, community builder, and proud Ruston neighbor who brings both heart and strategy to everything she does.
Naomi is running for Ruston City Council because she believes in keeping Ruston a caring, engaged, and walkable city. She supports smart growth that guides development in a way that protects the city’s character while boosting revenue. She wants to ensure safe, responsive services by strengthening long-term planning.
Naomi is also committed to open, effective local government and focused on clear communication, accessible services, and thoughtful planning for the future. She’s passionate about strengthening community spaces and ensuring residents have a voice in shaping Ruston’s parks and public places.
Naomi believes the best ideas come from the community. She listens deeply, leads with integrity, and isn’t afraid to roll up her sleeves and do the work. With Naomi on the City Council, Ruston will have a leader who brings people together to shape a strong and future-ready city.
Education
Master of Public Health (MPH) in Health Policy from the University of Washington.
Community Service
Naomi was selected as a 2024 Washington State Fellow with Moms Rising and is a long-time advocate for children, youth, and families. She has served as City of Tacoma Human Services Commissioner since 2018.
Elected Experience
Precinct Committee Officer for the 27th Legislative District in Ruston.
Other Professional Experience
Naomi is a community leader, a parent, and a proud Ruston neighbor. She currently serves on the Board for Nourish Food Banks of Pierce County and has previously volunteered with numerous boards and nonprofits, from affordable housing and community development to school PTA.
